Meeting with your Biology Advisor

ALWAYS TAKE YOUR UNOFFICIAL SFSU TRANSCRIPTS, DARS/ASE FORMS, AND PETITIONS/FORMS WHEN YOU MEET WITH YOUR MAJOR-SPECIFIC ADVISOR.

Each Biology student should meet regularly (at least once per year) with her/his Major Advisor to review her/his academic progress. The Department of Biology Office (HH534) has a current list of Major Advisors, indicating their contact information and office hours.

The student should consult the Biology Advising Checklist to make sure she/he brings all appropriate paperwork and forms. All students should bring to their meeting:

  • current unofficial SFSU transcripts (available via MySFSU)
  • a copy of his/her Advanced Standing Evaluation (ASE, request at One Stop Center)
  • a Degree Audit Report (if a transfer student) (available via MySFSU)
  • current course enrollment (available via MySFSU)
